About Me

Hi! I am Philip Brennan-Calabrese. I am a Chicago-based actor in my final year of the BFA Acting program at The Theatre School at DePaul University.

Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago in an Irish-Italian household, art has always been the biggest consistency in my life. Since I was a young boy, I loved to listen to music and dance along to music videos with my family. After seeing a movie in theaters, I was eager to run home and reenact what I just watched. All of this eventually led me to acting and theatre.

My first introduction to theatre was joining the crew for my school musical in fifth grade, where I fell in love with the art form and realized I wanted to try performing myself. With the encouragement of my teacher at the time, I was able to continue my artistic journey to high school, where I truly discovered the importance of art and how it can positively impact someone’s life. Senior year, I realized I couldn’t see myself doing anything else with my life.

I was then accepted into The Theatre School at DePaul University as an Acting major where I’ve spent the last four years honing my craft. As I wrap up my final year and reflect on this wonderful journey I’ve been so fortunate to be on, I realize truly immersing myself in and pursuing my passion to this degree with so many incredible people has made my love for acting stronger than ever.

Some fun facts!
